The Ostrich hatchery

We have our nursery ready to go. Good thing! It will be put to use in less than a week! About the artwork...

The ostriches make us smile every time we see them. Hopefully they are waterproof too.

The turtle is by the same artist, and reminds us of a  special dive on our honeymoon with some old turtles in Kauai. Since then, turtles have felt like a symbol of our family, our relationship and its promise. The artwork seemed perfect, and came from a co-op gallery just a couple of blocks from our home.

The Chupacabra airplane drawing was a gift from Sophia, the daughter of our friends Jen and Aaron. It's a nice touch in the baby room of a family with a rich flying history, pilots, and a daredevil or two.

Twins tend to be very bonded and used to each other by the time they start their journey on the outside. We've decided to go with twin bassinets but plan on keeping them together as long as is possible and practicable.

Setting up the room...

The dogs approve!
Our testers made sure for us that the rug was appropriate for playing.

Testing the sleeping quarters...
Just making sure it's an adecuate  sleeping environment too! This used to be our Master bedroom, but we've converted it into the nursery and have moved ourselves up into the loft, which turns out to be a very peaceful sleeping quarter and sanctuary. We set up some twin beds in the nursery for night watches and feeding duties and will have a glider soon too.

All we need now are the new tenants to move in!
